As a video producer and presenter he has appeared in productions as diverse as Practical Power Boating (He holds a Day Skipper Certificate and an International Certificate of Competence); Berth Your Boat, and Pass that Exam. This DVD, which describes his groundbreaking methods of revision and examination techniques, is now in use in more than 1,000 schools.
Most recently he has produced and presented DVDs on memory enhancement, relaxation and a series of workshops describing a radical new method for stress management and performance enhancement based on changing the way in which you breath.

Following his experiences covering violent conflict, he decided to leave photography and study psychology in an effort to try and make sense of the bloodshed he had witnessed, latterly in Belfast.
Returning to University, he obtained a First Class Honours degree (BSc) at the University of Westminster followed by a doctorate (D.Phil) from the University of Sussex – Department of Experimental Psychology – in 1985, where he later lectured in clinical psychology and psychopathology.
In 1978 he founded the registered charity Action on Phobias and has been active in working with self-help groups for phobics and anxiety sufferers.
In 2000 he founded Mindlab International, an independent research consultancy based at the University of Sussex, which conducts psychological and biometric studies for a wide range of companies around the world.
